Select Test Print from the pop-up menu on the Canon IJ Printer Utility. Click the Print Head Alignment icon. A message is displayed. Load paper in the printer. Load one sheet of A4 size or Letter size plain paper into the cassette 2. The number of sheets to be used differs when you select the manual head alignment. Execute head alignment. To continue with the setup, go to the Mac OS Setup page, read the information. then click the Download button on that page.Note the instruction that if the setup does not start automatically after download, to execute (double-click) the downloaded.dmg file.

You can change the ink drying wait time from Custom Settings in the Canon IJ Printer Utility. When you use the automatic duplex printing function to print a postcard, print the address side first and then print the message side. Checking Machine IP Address or MAC Address
To check the machine's IP Address or MAC address, print out the network settings information or use the operation panel to display it.
You can check the network setting information on the computer screen.

To check the IP Address or MAC address of your computer, follow the instructions below.
For Windows:
Select Command Prompt as shown below.
In Windows 8.1 or Windows 8, select Command Prompt from the Start screen.If Command Prompt is not displayed on the Start screen, select the Search charm and search for 'Command Prompt'.
In Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP, click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
Enter 'ipconfig/all' and press Enter.
The IP address and MAC address of your computer appear.If your computer is not connected to a network, the IP address does not appear.
For Mac OS:
Select System Preferences from Apple menu, and then click Network.
Make sure network interface used by computer is selected, and then click Advanced.
When you are using wireless LAN on your computer, make sure Wi-Fi is selected as network interface.When you are using wired LAN, make sure Ethernet is selected.
Check the IP address or MAC address.
Click TCP/IP to check the IP address.
Click Hardware to check the MAC address.
Checking Communication Between the Computer, the Printer, and the Wireless Router
Perform a ping test to check if communication is taking place.
For Windows:

If Request timed out appears, communication is not taking place.

Start Network Utility as shown below.
In Mac OS X v10.10 or Mac OS X v10.9, select Computer from Go menu of Finder, double-click Macintosh HD > System > Library > CoreServices > Applications > Network Utility.
In Mac OS X v10.8 or Mac OS X v10.7, open Utilities folder in Applications folder and double-click Network Utility.
Click Ping.
Make sure Send only XX pings (XX are numbers) is selected.
Enter IP address of target machine or target wireless router in Enter the network address to ping.
Click Ping.
'XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX' is the IP address of the target device.
A message such as the following appears.

Make sure the computer can communicate with the wireless router over the wireless LAN.

If your security software's firewall is on, a message may appear warning you that Canon software is attempting to access the network.If this warning message appears, set security software to always allow access.
