Our program grows your creative and practical writing skills, while challenging you to think critically about the cultural, historical and theoretical approaches to literature and the creative process. We embrace the Catholic definition of literature, which includes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, multimodal composition and film. We also value well-crafted arguments, sophisticated analyses, elegant writing, and thoughtful engagement with research.
Thoughtful English Homeschool
Learning in our department goes beyond the classroom with opportunities to write for The Bulletin and other campus publications, tutoring in the Writing Center, and presenting work at conferences. Our graduates have pursued careers in writing, teaching, law, editing, publishing and the technology sector.
